The Lab Pet does not typically post in the Parents' Discussion (because I am not one) but this is the exception. I came across this mathematics book by Lynda Colgan and was struck by how amenable this approach would be for any AS child (ages 10-14)! It's mathematics presented really visually under the guise of number magic! It's practically designed for an autistic mind, although that was not the intent, I'm sure.
I believe many/most AS individuals have an innate understanding of numbers and mathematics. At the same time, our learning differences can present initial problems with not only learning, but showing off what we can do.
If this link does not work, check out Mathemagic! (Lynda Colgan), 2011. http://www.kidscanpress.com/Canada/Math ... P5941.aspx
Excerpt: "Mathakazam! With this book, math becomes magic for kids! The secrets revealed in Mathemagic will have kids outwitting everyone with their superior computational skills, mystifying friends by plucking secret numbers from their minds and learning the mathematical secrets of the ancients."
