I'd really like to start working out and getting stronger. A good way to do that, of course, would be to go to the gym, but I'm not in a position to pay for a membership myself, and for some reason, my parents are happy to pay for a membership for my dad to use maybe a few weeks a year, but not to pay to add me onto the membership, even though I'd use it regularly  I also am not in a position to be buying equipment for home use. Does anyone have suggestions for ways to work out and improve my strength without using any sort of equipment? I tried jogging, but my lungs really can't handle it.

Push-ups! They are about the best exercise you can do if you don't want equipment

Youtube has lots of videos of people working out without equipment,or just start off walking and work your way up to jogging

Oh, duh, I should have thought to check Youtube, there are probably a bunch of helpful videos there. Sometimes I really need to be smacked in the face with a sign that says "JFGI" (just (explitive) Google it)

I already do a fair bit of walking. I'm a janitor at a retail store, and much of my work involves moving around the store as I clean. I also have a dog who gets at least one 45-minute walk a day.

You can buy some dumbbells. You can also do lunges and leg ups and sprints. You can also buy some work out videos. If you have a Wii or a WiiU, you can buy some Wii Fit games and games that are compatible with the Wii balance board at Game stop or online for cheap.
