Kids' games and child's play

We had a kid round ours today and I was with him for a bit. He had a restaurant menu which he was pretending was a treasure map, I pretended to be really awe struck by the treasure asked him where it was and what it was and so on and so forth. I thought I did really well. I think kids are awesome theyre like people before they become environmental pollutants XD

Im not sure if i'd be any good at imaginary play but I can really engage with them when it comes to supporting their games and encouraging them, this is probably because I actually like kids haha.

How are you guys when it comes to playing with kids?

I love kids and do well with them as long as they are under six/seven. Things become a bit too complex for me to be able to provide them with the stimulation they need after that unless they are disabled. My mother works with MD and CD children and I used to go and help her out on occasion. It was a pleasure.

My cousin's girlfriend has two girls, one is 4 and the other one is 6, and a few weeks ago I went over with my cousin to see his girlfriend, and I ended up playing with the little ones. I'm not so good at playing along with imaginative games as I used to be, after all I am a grown-up. I used to have a really big imagination as a child, and I still played imaginative games with my younger cousins when I was a teenager, right up until I was about 19-20. But after that my younger cousins got older and didn't for imaginary games so much, so I didn't play imaginative games any more either, plus I did get bored of them because of maturity. But I was still good to my cousin's girlfriend's children, and I was better when I got on the floor and played with their toys with them. Then I played hide and seek with them, but I was always the one that counted because I didn't want to hide. The girls found it fun when I went around the apartment to find them.

Kids seem drawn to me, and to like me, and I like them too and seem to get along with them pretty great. But I do find it exhausting even while it can be fun.
