3000th Post

That is quite a few for me. I don't think I ever lasted past 1000 on any forum before. I guess that is the thing, that I never felt 'at home' in any forum before. I could have good interactions, but there was always a point where people notice you are different, differences arise in perspective, and you begin to feel like an outsider.

I was so frustrated with the failed attempts on forums. Isolated by an injury, it was an important element for me and when it worked could partially fill that limited need to interact with others. I can't remember how I found WP, but having just recently been convinced of having ASD I do remember feeling this was my last chance at forums, that is if this didn't work, nothing would.

I did notice something different right from the start, and to my relief discovered here at least my idiosyncrasy was finally not something strange or unusual. It more or less was in the autistic ballpark. There still was the same potential for personality or idealogical conflict as elsewhere but at least it would not be complicated by the AS/NT difference and being autistic would not be used against anyone.

So wanted to say thanks to community here, for being here, and your patience.

The Avatar picture is from the old TV series 'The Outer Limits' episode 'Soldier'. Good stuff if you like old Sci Fi. The movie 'Terminator' copied a few bits from it. Especially the first 3 minutes.
