i tend to sleep well into the afternoon on days where Im especially stressed like today. It's like my body can't handle the mental strain of being awake and dealing with my emotional problems.

The world I inhabit in my sleep is a far nicer place than the waking world, I don't know where it is else I would go live there in my waking hours as well.
Girls there want to be in Love with me.

Same here, I would stay in dream land all the time if I could. The girls in my dreams do make fun of me, they want to hang out with me ect. The stresses and stuff I do not understand or cannot deal with in awake life do not exhist. I look forward to laying down every night as I know that the next 6-8 hours will be stress free. dodger

I will employ this method when quite depressed. A nice escape from all the negative feelings.

Soft warm bed. Quiet dark room. No difficult social situations and imaginary females who like me. I sleep way too much.

Sleep in my great escape. A cold air conditioned room covered under heavy comforters and fluffy pillows - is close to my idea of heaven.

I used to sleep about 10 hours a day when I was a kid. I used to live out in my tree house where there was no heat and it got down below freezing. I would just stack the layers on my bed. The funny thing is, I never though about the fact that I was actually making a crude weighted blanket back then that was actually helping with my autism. Go figure.

I do that sometimes when i'm depressed. Typically it doesn't work becayse i'm too concentrated on what stresses me in order to fall asleep. And then there was last year's april where i was struck with the worst headache of my life and my parents out of the country. Tried. Failed. Got anxiety.

Increased sleep is a common symptom of depression.

I hate sleep. I think it robs me of time on this earth and gives me less time to aquire knowledge. But I love my bed. I sit on it most days, all day. It's where I feel safe, and comfortable.

You're probably sleeping through the day due to excessive coffee intake.

I did this bigtime when I was younger; I completely withdrew after high school and basically all I did was sleep for a few years, for I suspect the very reason you name; it was my escape from a world I felt completely ill equipped to cope with. I think my family thought I'd be doing it it for the next forty years. I think I wondered that too.

Interestingly I grew away from it and now really enjoy being up early and having a full day to do things, even if it's only my special interest stuff.

I tend to do this when I'm depressed. I can remember times where I would sleep 12 to 14 hours a day and I would spend my waking hours basically waiting to go back to sleep. Nowadays, I find my dreams are often far too surreal and scary for my liking, though they can help to break up the monotony of my day to day life sometimes. Most of the time however, when I wake up I'm glad to be out of that place.
