I sure do. Right now on last.fm I get embarrassed about how obsessed I get with certain artists or genres. Like I've been obsessed with listening to throat singing for a while. Kind of embarrassing, but whatever. Now that last.fm lists throat singing as a top tag for me I'm even more embarrassed. I'm still listening to a lot of other music.

Sometimes. However, it depends on what I am obsessed with. Back in the day I had really bad obsessions with series or celebrities. I used to build my own world around them and kinda live/play with them (age 4-10). Now I still get obsessed with series but not to this extent. I surely am embarrassed when I obsess over people and research everything about them but most of the time I am focused on electronics or psychology, which isn't embarrassing at all.

I'm not embarrassed that I have an obsession, but It can happen that it puts me in a embarrassing situation. Like if I forget that other people don't find mushrooms that interesting, and I excitedly talk about them until someone tells me to knock it off. That can be a bit embarrassing, because I know that people now find me weird and annoying.
Yesterday I was at a christmas-lunch with work. We were served mushrooms, and they looked really cool. I forgot my surroundings and started inspecting the mushrooms closely. Suddenly I remembered where I were, looked up, and a coworker said "welcome back." Also pretty embarrassing.

When it comes to embarrassing interests like celebrities or music, I think most people have something like that. Not to the point of obsession, but pretty much everyone has a band or genre they're ashamed of listening to. Mine is jojk (that's a little like throat singing!), for a friend it's spice girls. And you wouldn't believe how many people are ashamed of secretly liking Justin Bieber!

I used to be obsessed with Teen Titans but then my ex told me he was in love with Laura-Raven and I was walking to the gym at 5 am and started screaming that Teen Titans (they have a character named "Raven") was ruined I was yelling and running fast. Then I had coffee and went to the gym and did a work out (I love being fit and having superpowers and I want to be strong enough for gymnastics.

What's your favorite jojk? I tried to get into some jojking artists, but none really interested me.

I have two favourites right now. Neither are very "throat-singy" though. If you'd like some examples of that I'm sure I can find some (it's way easier to find when you search in swedish or norwegian)

These guys have a pretty modernized style (which I guess is natural for young people)

And my big favourite is Angelin Tytöt. This one is really energetic, but there are a lot of calm songs from them too.

Other that that, the big favourite in Sweden is called Mari Boine :)

Doesn't have to be like throat singing, lol. I like other types of folk music as well. I have listened to Mari Boine before, but nothing quite sticks. I did like how energetic Angelin Tytöt is. Any other energetic yojking? I tend to prefer energetic music.

It depends on the subject matter. My special interests in music and television inspire my fashion choices. My special interests in ear wax, your'e bad at tinder, you're bad at social media and people of Walmart videos are the ones that I feel embarrassed about.

Not embarrassed, but aware that others aren't as passionate about my interests as I am.

Sometimes I'm frustrated with my inability to focus on anything else.

It strangely doesn't depend too much on subject matter for me. I get embarrassed about how much I get interested in makeup even though that's a "normal" interest.

Yes, quite embarrassed. But only ever in hindsight.

Yeah, there are a few. They're not that usual, but here's two that I know of:

This one's very energetic, but a bit "screamy".

Not quite as energetic, but still a better dance-song than many others.

And this one I found while looking for the other two. It's really weird, like reagge-jojk. Never heard it before, but I quite like it. It really lives up to the name.

I guess I should look for male singers. I generally prefer female singers, but I guess in this case I prefer male. Less floaty.

Interesting. I usually prefer male singers, but with jojk it can go either way. :)

I think most people would be surprised that I enjoy throat singing. It seems like I prefer distorted male vocals. I also enjoy Warduna and Death Grips. Most people tried to get me out of my comfort zone by recommending "nice" male singers. I proabably only enjoy 1/100 of them.

I don't usually find my obsessions to be embarrassing, but they can lead to awkward situations because I forget that people aren't as interested in the topic as I am. If somebody talks about organic chemistry or molecules, I sometimes get too excited about it and talk about it more than people feel comfortable with. I don't find this embarrassing, it just reminds me that other people just don't understand what it's all about if you understand what I mean.
