So I bought a huge mass of items from someones garage on on craigslist that is about an hour away. I paid using paypal. It was a impulse purchase and there is no way I can move the stuff. I wasn't thinking and only now do i realize it is a logistical problem I can't handle. . the seller has the money and can't give a refund. I just really want to be over with it and not show up to pick up the items. At this point I don't care about the money. I just don't want the hassle of the stuff.
I'm just concerned if this would be a huge inconvenience to the other person if I didn't come to pick up the stuff but let him keep the money, the only thing I can think is that he is still stuck with his items which he obviously was trying to get rid of . I know its crazy and weird but that is why I am here.

Why i am doing this is complicated so please don't be too judgmental.

Wouldn't that be good for them since they can keep the money then sell the stuff to others for more money?

the thing is I don't want him to be afraid of reposting the item of craigslist to resell the items and think I will remerge demanding my money or the items which would be even crazier than what I want to do right now.

You can tell him that you won't do that, and he can resell the items on craigslist.

Can you contact him and explain your situation? You could let him keep the money, or hope that he is willing to reimburse you. If you're too anxious, I would suggest you hand him a paper note, or something like that.

I'd be more curious as to why you're making impulse purchases on junk..

Either way, I'd grab what you can, since you already paid. Or, hire a truck to pick it up, u-haul, a trailer hitch, whatever.. If not, just tell him you can't. Don't not tell him, though.

Maybe the easiest thing would be to actually collect the crap?
I googled "man with a van Iowa" and found this:
