Has anyone attended a concert at nightclub? Pros/Cons? I'm not talking about a local band, but more popular. For instance I think Jason Derulo performed at a nightclub near where I live. I don't know why. Nightclubs don't hold enough fans? How do you deal with loud music and crowds? I know that some on the spectrum are sensitive to noise and crowds.

Clubs and bars are notoriously small which makes balancing the sound and preventing microphone feedback almost impossible. The bands (all nationally recognized) that I have seen there resort to overdriving their speakers which results in a sound similar to a jet taking off for two hours.

Noise is my worst sensory sensitivity. I have actually walked out of club concerts (walking slowly through their spotlights to emphasize the point) because the experience is painful. Having been a concert tech for some years, I would have happily commandeered their sound-engineering board and saved everyone from their migraines, but that wouldn't have pleased the musicians much, I suspect. Hehe. Their loss.

I've been to raves and I've been to metal and punk shows.

I find running in a circle bouncing into people tends to make me forget all about the overstimulation as it's occurring.

Near impossible to carry on a conversation for all the blaring music.

The good thing about nightclubs is that they're a place where it is socially acceptable to jump up and down a lot.

The bad things about nightclubs include that they are too loud, the music is normally awful, you get all sweaty, there are loads of strange rules, they are overpriced, and they are cesspits of sexual harassment.

Why would anyone attend a concert to have a conversation?

I'm not even taking someone along if I visit a concert because of this reason. I'm there to listen to music. If I want to have a conversation I'll to it after the show.

But then again; I even visit nightclubs on my own just to drink and enjoy the music and refrain from speaking except to the bartender to pour me a new one.

There's a place for talking and a loud nightclub is not it IMO

As I've only gone to bars and clubs with live bands with friends, I want to talk to them over beer. Some of the best conversations I've ever had have been over beer.
