So I was browsing the forum and came across toe walking - it is something that I do but after reading many threads I realized people seemed to be talking about walking like so:
Toes first, heel second.

However, I walk without putting my heel onto the ground at all unless I'm going to be in the same place for a good while. So I decided to start this thread to differentiate between these walk styles and see how everyone walks.

I walk heel-first. I'm also flatfooted. I spend a lot of time obsessed with how the soles of my feet are in contact with the floor.
In the past I have tried to deliberately walk/run with the ball of the foot hitting the ground first but it just feels really unnatural.

I am a toe runner myself, and walk heel first, I tired walking the way other people do and it bothered me greatly.

I think that a lot of us walk differently because we don't automatically copy the people around us.

I walk "weirdly" too! I'm pretty flat-footed and hate the way it feels when something is against the bottom of my foot. I run with my toes. My heels don't touch the ground, so I look like a charging bull xD I walk either fully on my toes, heels never touching ground also, or on the outer sides of my feet. Complete toe walking isn't very fast, so I do it only in short distances and side walking is my main way.

I've heard of people doing this out of sensory issues like mine or because it gives a better sense of balance...?

I walk on my toes when I get up in the morning, then I settle down and walk "normally." I have gotten better about tripping, so I must have changed the way I walk at some point. When I was a kid, my biggest problem was shuffling/dragging my feet. I've fixed that, too.

As far as running on the toes - I didn't know there was any other way. I can't imagine running using my whole foot. But, I don't like running and don't anticipate that I will find out what that's like.

I have been nicknamed ninja before because you cannot hear me walking. However I toe walk up the stairs, because I feel comfortable that way.

i simply walk on my toes, not letting my heels touch the floor. and sometimes i walk on my heels without my toes touching the floor, but i prefer toe walking.
