I was first diagnosed with Asperger's back in 2011 but only just recently came across this website. My nickname I actually got when I was in high school; my friends used to say that I ran extremely fast like a Kenyan warrior and I can still run pretty fast today. Most of my hobbies include singing, acting, writing, watching movies and TV Shows, playing video games, and just plain goofing off on my computer. I'm extremely passionate about music, movies, TV Shows, video games, Disney, animation (particularly handdrawn), Sci-Fi, Tim Burton, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic among other things. I've often found myself relating to a variety of different characters from movies, TV, and even musicals such as Edward from Edward Scissorhands, Quasimodo from Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (a personal favorite of mine along with The Little Mermaid), The Phantom from The Phantom Of The Opera, Elphaba from Wicked, Elsa from Frozen (another great Disney movie), and The Mane 6 from MLP:FIM. Y'all could probably tell I was a Brony just by reading the tile of this. I got into MLP back in February of this year, watching the first 3 seasons and the Equestria Girls movie off of Netflix in the course of a month. What really got me hooked was the great animation, the clever writing with hilarious humor, the catchy songs, and just how well developed the characters were. The more I watched of the show and learned about the Mane 6, the more I noticed certain characteristics and personality traits about each one of them that I saw in myself. If I had to pick a favorite out of them, I'd have to go with Fluttershy because of her kindhearted, gentle nature and beautiful voice (both speaking and singing) that makes me think of her as like a ponified version of a classic Disney Princess. However, when it comes to the one that I take after the most, that would be Rainbow Dash because of my extreme loyalty, speed demon nature, and occasional brash side whenever I feel like my opinions or those I care about are being threatened or attacked. What it all comes down to is that the only way we can be friends is if you respect my opinions and who I associate with. You don't have to agree with me. Just respect mine and I'll respect yours. Bash mine and whatever friendship we might've had is over. I've discovered that Asperger's has allowed me to come up with many ideas for writing. I've currently completed a few stories, I'm in the process of writing several (including an MLP Fanfic called The Needs Of The Many), and there are countless other ideas that are still in the infancy stages of development. This also applies to the songs that I've written or am writing. I've been singing ever since I was 6 or 7 when I used to watch Backstreet Boys concerts on Disney Channel til 10-11 at night, but I didn't technically sing in front of an audience until summer of 2007 at a friend's Sweet 16 party when they rented a karaoke machine. After that, I joined Red Door Theater's Homeschool Drama Club in the fall of that same year where I spent the next 5 years acting, singing, and dancing in 5 variety shows and 2 musicals. One of the musicals was a Halloween themed one called Frightville High where I played Oscar the Vampire Nerd. My favorite memory about it was in the finale when I got to breakout into Michael Jackson's Thriller and then afterwards when an older man in the audience came up to me and said, "Michael Jackson still lives in you". That was one of the biggest compliments I've ever received and it was such a surreal experience. My first convention was the Midwest Media Expo back in April, 25-27 of this year (best weekend of my life) where I got to meet many famous celebrities like Andre Meadows AKA Black Nerd Comedy, Team Four Star, veteran Disney Animator James Lopez, and Silly Filly Studios among others. My favorite memory was the first day when Silly Filly Studios member, Meredith Sims, walked up to me and introduced herself. I was fangirling out soo hardcore telling her how much I loved her work and probably coming off as the biggest idiot ever, but she was just soo calm and chill about it like she didn't even notice. Later that day, at the group's autograph signing, I gave her a dozen giant Blue Pixie Stix (her favorite) and she thought that it was really sweet so she came around to hug me and she let me snap a selfie with her. She is honestly one of the kindest people you'll ever meet and I do hope to see her again. My ultimate dream is to be able to make a career out of singing, acting, and writing. Sorry if I bored you guys with too many details, but it just sort of comes with the territory of being an Aspie. I look forward to meeting more of you through this community.

hm, i would have voted for twilight sparkle if she was an option but i guess i'l go with fluttershy. i have a vinyl and a plushie of her, both gifts from mah sister. 8) (flutters, i mean). i got into it november 2012 but it's been quite a while since i've touched it.
i guess i am more inclined towards books and interests rather than animals, but i have 3 hamsters, a puppy, 12 year old cat and 18 cockateils.

Kenya is a cool nickname, since you said you run fast, do you run competitively? i took track and field last school year, i was a sprinter. i wish i was as fast as you claim since i always got last or penultimate place ha!

it sounds like a great experience, you at the Red Door Theater's Homeschool Drama Club. it seems like you have quite the future ahead of you.

welcome to the club.

Oops sorry. I could've sworn that I had typed Twilight Sparkle in as an option. Now I feel soo bad for leaving her out. :( I'm soo sorry Tara (Strong). You know I still love you. I don't really run competitively although I'm pretty sure I could've made the Olympics if I had tried earlier on in life. Where are you from btw? Also thanks for the welcome.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! !! !! !! I did NOT see that coming. Anyways, I live in the Northeast section of the country in a small Massachusetts suburb called West Springfield. Lived here my whole life. What're some of your interests?

I picked Pinkie. I would have chosen Twilight, but Pinkie is my second choice.

I also like singing. That's an understatement. It's been my main interest since I was 15, though I've always loved doing it. I think I am pretty good, and I've done a few singing performances, though if you can sing Thriller and get a compliment like that, you are probably better than me :)

I always wanted to be in a musical or try theater. Unfortunately the way my school was we really only had 1 choice of an elective every year, so I went with concert choir. I tried starting an a capella group at school but I couldn't get enough people interested in it unfortunately.

Anyway, enough about me. Welcome! :D

West Springfield, seems peaceful. i to have lived here in the american riviera my entire life, same house for 12 years.

i like to read about history first of all. especially 20th century european history, early east asian history and catching up on news. (when does news become history, anyway?? how does one measure relevance?) i also am interested in linguistics, phonology and writing systems, i'm currently creating some languages from scratch but i have yet to study it professionally.
movies too. i don't have a particular specific genre i watch but i LOVE a good medical documentary. my three favorite movies are Eraserhead, Spirited Away and The Goodtimeskid. and yours?

have you watched the equestria girls movies by any chance? like i said i haven't touched the series in a long time, but i'm now wonderig if the movies are any good. :?

i like to draw too, creating fictional worlds (that sort of ties in with the linguistics and conlanging). soon applying for an art scholarship!

[2 cents] Eraserhead is still the most disturbing movie I have ever seen, hands down. Also, everything Miazaki does is amazing. I've never heard of the Goodtimeskid, but apparently it's in good company. [/2 cents]

I don't know much about the ponies, but as long as you clean up their poop your welcome to stable them in the east barn.
